Some blogs tend to focus in on one or two key topics in an effort to provide some measure of coherence. Others, like BoingBoing, thrive on miscellany.
While I do hope that Extension is full of wonderful things, I feel compelled to offer more than than just a directory of my thoughts. To that end I have tried to focus on three or four themes. Together with the tag cloud they will give you a good idea of what this site is about.
The first deals with games of all sorts, particularly electronic ones, and charts the flow of ideas around the recent popularity explosion of video games. This includes ludology, world of warcraft, and second life.
The second deals with media and technology and how web 2.0 is changing us. What does it mean to be human in the age of ones and zeroes?
Variations on this question have been asked over and over again by philosophy, poetry, art and religion. On this site you will find my attempt to both ask and answer.
And finally, I used this blog a fair amount when I was a student at Trinity Western University who didn’t like to stay silent (cached). My time as editor and on student council at TWU has given me an interest in the political side, of Trinity, technology, the news and more.
