Who said we weren’t supposed to get political? April 27, 2006

From the Guardian on a recent piece about the cost of education:

‘Going to university is about more than earning money. It is about getting involved in student life - getting involved in political and democratic bodies, setting up or joining a society and meeting lots of people.’

If our education isn’t going to be worth beans to us after we get out into the real world, what’s so bad about a little bit of political advocacy inside the bubble? Notice the use of “student life” and “democratic bodies” in the same sentence: something completely foreign to TWU.

Students brought up to date at forum January 30, 2006

An open forum was held in the TWUSA office last Thursday to share information about the allegations surrounding president Snider and the chairman of the Board, Allan Hedberg. Members of Student Council read prepared statements, shared documents, and answered the questions of the 80 or so students, faculty, alumni, and staff that were present.
