Our First Day
June 20th, 2007
We finally made it across the pond. After nine hours in transit, we touched down at Heathrow and made our way into the city of Westminster. Strangely enough, most of London is not actually London: the name refers to a very small part of the city which is still the financial centre.
Our first evening involved mostly recovering from jet lag and a short walk along the Thames. Here are some of our pictures from our first adventure in Europe.

Mind the Gap!

Unusual or redundant?

Who knew that in the garden outside our hotel there was such prestigious pedigree?

Linnea looking sultry beside a fishy looking lampstand with Big Ben in the background.

Lots to see in London.

Thanks for the quick update. This is really fun to see your pictures so soon. Are these pictures from Matt’s camera? We are heading to bed. Hope to hear more from you tomorrow. How are you feeling now Linnea. I had a nice visit with Helen tonight. Love you both!

Woah! You’ve updated your site. Excellent.
Sunday schools were only invented in the 1700s?
Don’t miss Tate Britain - an excellent collection of William Blake.

Matt and Linnea! Looks like a rad trip already. You guys rock. Say, you mentioned at the wedding that you had mapped our your planned travels on Google Maps, but I can’t locate that link anywhere on your site.
I’ll jump in and answer Helen’s question: A URL is a website address. If you have your own website, you can type the address into that box. It stands for “Universal Resource Locator,” but that doesn’t really matter. You can safely ignore the box.
